Isu-isu dan masalah Tanjung Aru

Kota Kinabalu, Disember 28, 2010: Pengerusi cawangan Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) Grace Court, Bahari Aship, berkata kenyataan Edward Yong dalam akhbar Cina Asia Times 28hb Disember 2010 bersabit dengan lawatan beliau ke Tanjung Aru selepas kejadian kebakaran baru-baru ini amat mengelirukan. Menyentuh tentang jalan raya yang sedang dalam pembaikan yang sudah agak lama tidak siap-siap, beliau menyalahkan kontraktor dan pihak berkuasa tidak memantau untuk menyiapkan projek tersebut.

"Saya rasa sebagai Wakil Rakyat N.17 Tanjung Aru, Edward Yong, harus lebih bertanggung jawab terhadap masalah rakyat di kawasan Tanjung Aru dan bukan hanya pandai menyalahkan pihak lain. Sudah tiga penggal beliau jadi Wakil Rakyat kami di N.17 Tanjung Aru jarang sekali nampak Edward Yong turun padang dan tidak pernah pun menyuarakan isu-isu dan masalah rakyat. Apabila sudah berlaku sesuatu barulah nampak 'bulu mata' beliau. Inikah yang bergelar Wakil Rakyat?

"Beliau pernah menafikan penyambungan dan penyewaan rumah-rumah kepada orang luar / PTI yang menyebabkan kecurian air dan tenaga eletrik. Kalau tidak benar, Kenapa pihak SESB menyerbu dan memotong sambungan-sambungan eletrik haram di kawasan tersebut. Ini bermakna YB. Edward Yong cuma main hentam keromoh. Jumpa penduduk tempatan untuk mendapatkan gambaran sebenar.

"Sebagai rakyat tempatan, kami amat kecewa dengan prestasi yang ditunjukkan oleh Wakil Rakyat kami yang tidak prihatin dan adil terhadap rakyat di Tanjung Aru. Karenah dan sikap beliau sebagai YB. Tanjung Aru amat dikesali dan tidak sampai ke tahap yang kami harap-harapkan. Banyak isu-isu dan masalah yang belum selesai di kawasan Tanjung Aru dan beliau selaku Wakil Rakyat bersikap seolah-olah semua ini bukanlah tanggung jawab beliau.
