2013 Apr 12 - Sabahans need to unite to reclaim Sabah's lost autonomy

Sabahans need to unite to reclaim Sabah's autonomy

KOTA KINABALU, April 12, 2013 - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) calls on all the voters in Sabah to come out and cast their votes on the 5th May as every vote is needed to oust this present corrupted BN state government so that their Buaya Culture will be completely stopped and eliminated.

Sabah Progressive Party President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee emphasized that it is not easy to overthrow this present powerful and corrupted state government, we need to unite everyone to achieve this difficult task so that we can reclaim Sabah's Autonomy and to safeguard our people's welfare and interests and especially to manage our natural resources to prevent more exploitation by future federal government.

Yong reminded everyone that BN is powerful and strong, Sabah's DAP leaders Jimmy Wong and Dr. Hiew King Cheu are fully aware of this, and even DAP's Lim Kit Siang and PKR's Anwar Ibrahim publicly admitted that their alliance PR will not be able to defeat the present state BN government, and their main goal is only to win 5+2 states in Malaya.

He strongly criticized the BN state government has systematically carried out a land grabbing practice and a lot of our Sabah natives have lost their Native Customary Rights (NCR) land because of this, and this will make them landless in no time. Yong cited an example that some natives have lost their plantations and homes to a private company because of this practice. After checking with SSM, that private company belongs to a senior BN minister.

There are 7 lawyers in our state cabinet and none of them bother to lift a finger to protect the natives' rights, instead, they passed a law stating that NCR will not be recognized after 1930, and this makes any native below the age of 90 will not be able to own any land in Sabah.
Yong believes that this act is to make land grabs easier for the BN government.

He pledges that if SAPP is given the mandate to form the next state government in the coming election, all the controversial laws passed by the BN will be repealed to prevent further abuse by any senior government officer. He promises that all pledges in SAPP's Manifesto, such as land reforms, proper management of state natural resources will be fulfilled unlike other political parties which have announced that their manifestos are not binding. They will make empty promises just to hoodwink the voters and to fish for votes only. Yong also disclosed that when he was the Chief Minister, had approved 48,000 land titles, the majority to the natives.
