Confusing statements by Yong, Jeffrey - Mojigoh claims

Kota Kinabalu, May 10, 2010: All quarters, especially the opposition, should refrain from making confusing statements on the oil blocks issue without knowing the facts, said Putatan MP Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh.

He said opposition leaders like Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Datuk Yong Teck Lee had been making statements only aimed at confusing the people.

Mojigoh, who is also Upko Treasurer General, said Dr Jeffrey and Yong could refer to him if they want to know the actual position of the Block L and M and whether it is within Sabah's area.

"As a person who knows about position fixing and international boundary as well as the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), I am willing to sit down with them anywhere and anytime," he said at the Juara Rakyat programme for the P.173 Putatan constituency at Plaza Tanjung Aru, Sunday.

"I am not against constructive criticism statements but if its for the purpose of confusing the people then it is unethical," he said, adding that if the people found out that they were not telling the truth then it is their blunder.

Mojigoh agreed with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman that no Sabah area was ceded in relation to the oil blocks issue.

"The areas are located about 200 nautical mile off Brunei ... it belongs to Brunei," he said.
